Position: Network Engineer
Location: Alameda County, CA - 5 days onsite
Compensation: $100,000-145,000 base

Job Summary
The client seeking an experienced Network Engineer who will provide advanced technical support and assist internal teams with complex network and system requirements. The role involves designing, implementing, and testing intricate infrastructure to support business operations, requiring expertise in network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, cloud solutions, and network monitoring tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex cloud and local infrastructure issues, implementing projects with minimal supervision and enhancing network performance and scalability.
- Utilize monitoring tools like SolarWinds to assess network health, making recommendations for resource optimization.
- Execute regular network maintenance, including software and firmware updates and security patches, adhering to change management policies.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field preferred, with practical experience.
- Professional certifications (Cisco, PAN, AWS, Azure, VMware) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Network Engineer or Administrator.
- Expertise in Cisco networking technologies and support for next-generation firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Familiarity with cloud IaaS services (AWS or Azure).
- Proficiency with AD, DNS, DHCP, and designing, deploying, and troubleshooting various networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD-WAN).
- Knowledge of network and security systems (IOS, NX-OS, PAN-OS) and protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs).
- Understanding of access control, wireless security, and LAN technologies.
- Experience configuring servers and operating systems; Linux skills are advantageous.
Compensation
Expected Base Pay Range: $100,000 - $145,000 annually. The range reflects the projected pay for the role and potential work locations. Actual compensation will consider experience, certifications, education, and other factors.
